Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account at Lifester, we need to collect and process certain information. Depending on your use of the Lifester services, that may include:

  • information (such as your name, email, address, telephone number) that you provide by completing forms on Lifester, including if you register as a user of Lifester, subscribe to our blog or newsletter, or upload or submit any materials through Lifester;
  • your login and password details, in connection with the account sign-in process;
  • information about your activity on and interaction with Lifester, such as your IP address and the type of device or browser you use;
  • communications you send us (via chat support, email or other messages);
  • general information about yourself, such as your income bracket and planning objectives, so that your producer can decide whether to accept your Project request;
  • information that you submit to Lifester in the form of comments and chat messages with your team members.

Lifester is a decision-making platform to assist you in evaluating life insurance products and strategies proposed by the licensed life insurance adviser you select. It is not an underwriting application. Accordingly, Lifester does not store your personal medical or financial records, or documents containing the same.

To the extent that you decide to share sensitive personal information with your Producer or other team members, you may do so either directly offline, or using third-party HIPAA Compliant sites that are specifically designed for that purpose. For your convenience, Lifester may refer to commonly used third-party apps.

2. Information That Is Private and Not Shared

The following data will not be publicly displayed or revealed to other users:

  • any payment information you provide;
  • your password details;
  • your IP address;
  • your phone number;
  • communications you send to us (through live support or email to report a problem, for example).

We do not give your personal information to any third-party services except as necessary to provide Lifester services (for example, to partner with payment processors). When we share data with third-party services that support delivery of Lifester services, we require that they protect your personal information to the same standards we do.

We reserve the right to disclose personal information when we believe that doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or law enforcement, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect Lifester's legal rights.

3. Information That Is Private But Shared

When you participate in a Lifester Project, you will be making information available to certain Producers, Co-Producers and/or Project Members you invite. This information mostly has to do with the life insurance product or strategy that is the subject of the Project, and should not contain detailed personal information or medical records of any type. You should be aware, that you may very well be sharing:

  • any information you provided on the Project forms;
  • any videos or photos you uploaded;
  • any personal or auto-biographical information you decided to share;
  • any special instructions or contact information that might include an address;
  • Comments to or from you on the Comments tab;
  • Chat messages to or from you in the Conversations tab; and
  • "Likes" on Comments or Updates.

Lifester will protect this information as we protect all Private information. For example, we will not share with third-party services except as necessary to perform Lifester services. However, Lifester cannot protect you from what other invited Project Members do with your information. So, it is advised to use caution both in terms of whom you invite to join a Project and also the nature of the information you share.

In addition, we may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners – like publishers, advertisers or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services.

If Lifester is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, we will continue to ensure the confidentiality of any personal information and give affected users notice before personal information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
